Based in the Cuckmere Valley in East Sussex near Alfriston, Richard Bartlett is a highly experienced traditional flint and lime mortar craftsman with two English Heritage awards for excellence.

Specialising in the traditional construction, restoration, conservation and repair of all types of flint walls, Richard has the ability to give age and character to new builds while also able to match up flint wall repairs to existing structures, many of which can be seen around East Sussex within the South Downs National Park.

All work is carried out professionally to the highest standards, utilising traditional methods and materials and specialising in lime mortar.

Richard Bartlett has repaired and re-built various flint walls in East Sussex while working closely with local Conservation and Heritage bodies including the National Trust.

Recent commissions include new flint panels on new houses under the South Downs National Park and Eastbourne planning authorities, restorations of flint walls and listed buildings in East Sussex under Natural England and lime mortar restoration and re-pointing at Knole Park, Sevenoaks, for the National Trust.
